The Post I Did not Plan to Write

Every week before I publish anything on my blog, I open the folder on my phone — the one filled with many drafts, stories, and conversations I have already written — and I say a simple prayer: “Father, what do You want me to post today?”

I never want to post from emotion. I want to post from obedience.

So this morning, as I was walking into the gym, I was listening to a completely different song. I stepped inside and the track changed — and immediately I said, “Ah no, not this one,” and pressed next.

But the next song that came on was “Falling On My Knees” by William McDowell.

And as soon as it started playing, I heard “stay on this one and “That’s what you’re posting today.”

In my head I was like,

I don’t have time this morning to write, and I don’t even have a post in my folder about this. Yet the conversation continues: So… You want me to write it from scratch and post it today?
Alright, Father — I hear You. I surrender. I just remind myself: obedience, obedience, obedience.

Here are the lyrics that grabbed my spirit:

Falling on my knees, I bow, bow down

There are some things I can’t see until I bow

I can see clearly now, here on my knees

I understand better now, here on my knees

And right there as I walked into the gym, God ministered something so clear:

There are things you will never see until you get on your knees.

Explanations won’t help.

Conversations won’t help.

Analysis won’t help.

But kneeling will.

In Nigerian English:

You go explain taya, and it still won’t make sense — until you bow.

Today, God is calling us into a deeper place — not performance, not perfection, just intimacy.

He is saying: Come closer, child. Come to Me in worship, in stillness, in surrender. What doesn’t make sense now will make sense on your knees.

Scriptures That Spoke Loudly Today

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”— Matthew 6:33

Why chase a thousand things when the One who holds everything is inviting you close?

“Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.”— James 4:8

It starts with a posture — not standing tall, but bowing low.

“Call to Me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”— Jeremiah 33:3

Some answers are revealed only in the posture of surrender.

“The LORD is near to all who call on Him.”— Psalm 145:18

Nearness happens when we bow.

This is the God who leaves the 99 sheep to chase after the one lost sheep  (Luke 15:4-7 and Matthew 18:12-14) — That’s the kind of reckless love that is calling you today.

A Word for You

If you’ve been confused, overwhelmed, or trying to figure things out on your own…

pause. Your clarity is not “out there.” Your clarity is at His feet.

There is revelation waiting for you — not on your phone, not in your mind, but on your knees.

God is calling you to intimacy, not activity.

To surrender, not striving.

To worship, not worry.

Come close. It will make sense when you bow.

Closing Thought

There are levels of clarity, direction, and peace you will never experience standing up. Some revelations only come when you bow.

Get on your knees, your answers are waiting there.

Reflection Prayer

Father,

Thank You for calling me into deeper intimacy with You.

Teach me to come before You in surrender,

not just with my mind, but with my heart and my posture.

Help me to seek You first, above every other desire.

Open my eyes to the things I cannot see

until I bow before You.

Draw me close, and let my life be anchored in Your presence.

In Jesus’ name,

This reminds of my life early this year when I hit a crossroad and was trying to seriously analyse where I fell off..but I was losing my mind even more until I surrendered to his plan and will for me,did everything start making sense. God knows the end from the beginning,so it’s just best we surrender to the one who is watching the replay of our lives, while we are in real time.
